WSJ: Russia Bans Food Imports from U.S., E.U., Australia

August 7, 2014 – In direct response to Western sanctions, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced a ban of food imports from the United States, European Union and Australia. Other, wider retaliatory measures are also being considered.

“Fulfilling the presidential order, I’ve signed a government decree. Russia imposes a total ban on deliveries of beef, pork, fruit, vegetables, poultry, fish, cheese, milk and dairy products,” Mr. Medvedev said, opening the weekly government session.
