November 20, 2014—It’s hard to believe more than a quarter century has passed since the first campaign for the presidency, running on the Libertarian Party ticket. Two years later after that run, in 1990, C-SPAN held a live call-in event.
Some responses from the call-in event:
“In a libertarian society, individuals can’t counterfeit but neither can government counterfeit. Today individuals, correctly, aren’t allowed to counterfeit but we have legalized counterfeiting by the Federal Reserve, condoned by the Congress.”
“For us to develop a foreign policy designed to protect kingdoms, I mean, what kind of civil liberties do they have in Kuwait or Saudi Arabia?”
