April 30, 2015—Bubba comments about what happened to Twitter with the early release on Tuesday. He is doubtful about the “accidental” release of earnings. He believes that the accident was on purpose. He questions how regulators can miss so many big events and concentrate on all of the small things. He feels that there has to be a better way for regulators to keep tabs on important information.
Bill Whittle comments on the power of image and he uses George Washington as the example. Washington may appear to youth as an old guy in a powdered Whig, but he was one of the best dressed men in the world. He used that image to his political advantage. Bill mentions that if George were alive today he would still project the image but it would be in modern clothing. Times change but icons remain.
Bill comments that today’s liberals are not liberal at all. They are elitists, communists, and socialists that believe that they should dictate how people live. The true liberals are conservatives that try to restore the country to the way the founding fathers envisioned it. Bill believes that diversity is the right of an individual and the current progressives want to provide basics for individuals to keep them in power, but are not interested in individual rights.
Bill comments on the race debate at the beginning of the 20th century. One group of black Americans favored big government to solve problems. The other group, headed by Booker T. Washington, believed in the educational process as the way to the future. He believes that black Americans can only move forward with the principles of Booker T. Washington, hard work and study represent opportunity, not big government.
