The Failure of Progressivism: The Libertarian Angle

December 15, 2015—On this episode of The Libertarian Angle, Jacob Hornberger and Richard Ebeling of the Future of Freedom Foundation cover “the absolute disaster” that is progressivism.

“We look back at this movement. It has been the socialism that has been incorporated into American society, the interventionism, and really to a certain extent foreign interventionism as well. It’s that same mindset, that government can fix the problems that arise in society,” Hornberger says.

“Obama and many others say, ‘Are you on the right side of history?’ This is this Marxian notion that society is following the path toward more government regulation, further redistribution of wealth, welfare state safety nets, the capstone most recently being his Obamacare health care plan, and all of those who oppose them are reactionaries, who wish to keep society, and in our case the American people ‘in the past,'” Ebeling says.
